TÜGİAD, TUGIAD, organizes various meetings, panel discussions, and workshops with its strategical study groups or permanent commissions founded with the aim of forming the “Young Approach” in current, economical, social, political, and cultural issues.
It aims at inviting all the related entities to the meetings on current or general issues (Ministers, scientists, bureaucrats, and representatives of non governmental organizations etc. ) in order to discuss and analyze the issue in every aspect of it. Our members can have direct information related with their working field and present their own views and proposals, in these meetings attended by the prominent economists and politicians of Turkey. These meetings, organized also to enlarge the visions of the members and provide them with professional knowledge, is carried out open to protocol, press, and other non governmental organizations. It contributes to the formation of desirable interest within the public and the required fields, to give a wide place to these meetings in media.
In the “Traditional Second Tuesday Meal”, open only to the members of TUGIAD, direct communication is provided between the members and the elected agencies. In these meetings with meal service held monthly, the Administrative Board, Board of Discipline and Auditing Commission members come together with the other members, and exchange information directly, regarding the activities of the association. The presentation and reception of the new members are also held in these meetings.
”Strategical Training Seminars” are held every month in order to inform and train our members and employees. The agenda is followed on the issues determined according to the demands of the members, by providing new information on the current issues to the seminars given by our consultants or an expert. The social activities including special receptions and invitations for the members and their partners, aim at creating friendship and solidarity among the members.
21-year-old TUGIAD, has held successful studies in every field since its foundation, with its activities at national level. Some examples of the latest activities of TUGIAD, which has held thousands of activities from entrepreneurship to education, environment and art during 21 years, can be seen below :
We have brought our young businessmen living in Europe together with the Turkish businessmen two subsequent years at GAP, by using our vision and experience for the benefit of the local improvement of our country.
By bringing together the 500 businessmen from 13 countries of Europe with the Turkish businessmen of the area and from other districts of Turkey, at GAP meetings held in Gaziantep in 2005, and in Sanliurfa in 2006, we provided about 1000 bilateral meetings at each time. About 300 thousand visits were made to our website designed within the context of this project, during 6-month periods, and the foreign trade of the area was increased.
We have given education aiming at KOBİs, with our panel discussions of “Management and Institutionalization at family corporations“ in Bursa, Gaziantep, Çorum, Kayseri, Antalya, İstanbul, Erzurum, Denizli, Konya and Edirne. We have formed an information network with the participants of our panel discussions organized with the collaboration of Chambers of Trade and Industry, Universities, GIAD, and SIAD.
Aiming at finding scientific and creative solutions to the economical matters, TUGIAD, has been organizing scientific works contest in the field of economy and giving “TUGIAD ECONOMY AWARDS” every year since 2000.
With this project, we aim at encouraging the creation of the works which would be beneficial for the society by providing intellectual improvement on the issues which have crucial importance for Turkey, and contributing to their announcement. We are presenting the works which come first to the public by publishing them as books, and giving cash prizes as encouragement to the contestants whose works take place in the first three.
We have created a model for the collaboration of the business world with university in order to support the improvement of entrepreneurship based on knowledge in Turkey. We have extended the success of our entrepreneurship training programme beginning with Marmara University, to the Universities of Yildiz Teknik and Kocaeli.
Being aware of the fact that the most basic factor for improvement is the success of our country’s business world, we have created models of;
- Fruit growing and textile sector in Southeast Anatolia
- Concrete projects to improve tourism sector in Trakya.
- Tourism and Exchange of Cultures and Improvement Center in Edirne, founded with the funding of European Union and the support of TUGIAD.
We have trained experts to prepare local projects and to provide funds for these. We have directed these experts to provide support for the local institutions within the context of regional improvement. We have provided support for the foundation of Project Support Units supporting the businessmen in the region, in the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Erzurum and Bayburt, led by UNDP.
We are still carrying out the meetings where undersecretaries and unit leaders come together with TUGIAD members, and which are held under the chairmanship of the Ministers of public works, energy, and education, within the context of “Vision 2023” for “Turkey on the 100th anniversary of Republic”.
We have organized panel meetings within the context of “The rights and projects of Turkish businessmen by EU”, carried out with the collaboration of “Turkey-Europe Institute”. We are carrying on our activities regarding this issue.
